Terms of Service

Last updated: March 5, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Classbox platform (“Service”), operated by Betabox, Inc. (“Company,” “we,” “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a school, district, or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Classbox is a STEM education platform for K-12 schools. The Service provides standards-aligned curriculum and lesson plans, hands-on supply kits (“Classboxes”), a credit-based economy for procurement, professional development coaching, and administrative tools for schools and districts. The Service is intended for use by educators, school administrators, and authorized personnel — not directly by students.

3. Account Types & Responsibilities

The Service supports several account roles, including Teachers, Leads (school-level administrators), Admins (district-level administrators), and Vendors (supply partners). Each role has different permissions and capabilities within the platform.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. You may not share your login credentials with others or allow anyone else to access the Service through your account.

Account registration requires accurate and complete information. You agree to keep your profile information current throughout your use of the Service.

4. Credit System

Classbox uses a virtual credit system for platform transactions. Credits are allocated by Admins to schools and by Leads to individual teachers. Teachers spend credits to order Classboxes and enroll in coaching programs. Credits may also be earned by completing curriculum projects.

Credits have no cash value and are non-transferable outside the platform. Credits cannot be exchanged for currency, refunded, or redeemed outside of the Service. Credit balances and allocations are subject to administrative oversight and may be adjusted by authorized administrators.

5. Classbox Orders

The Service supports two order types for supply kits:

  • Checkout (Rental): Supply kits are loaned for classroom use and must be returned by the specified due date. You are responsible for the condition of borrowed materials. Late returns or damaged materials may result in additional charges or restrictions on future orders. Some checkout orders may require approval from your school Lead before processing.
  • Purchase (Buy): Supply kits are purchased outright using credits. Ownership transfers to your school upon delivery.

All orders are subject to availability. We reserve the right to cancel or modify orders if supply constraints arise.

6. Intellectual Property

All curriculum content, lesson plans, project guides, coaching materials, and other educational content available through the Service are the property of Betabox, Inc. or its content partners. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use this content solely for classroom instruction within your school or district.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or publicly display any content from the Service outside of authorized classroom use without prior written permission from Betabox, Inc.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Manipulate the credit system, including creating fraudulent transactions or exploiting system errors
  • Access or attempt to access accounts, data, or areas of the Service that you are not authorized to use
  • Use the Service for any purpose other than legitimate educational activities
  • Upload malicious files, introduce viruses, or interfere with the operation of the Service
  • Misrepresent your identity, role, or school affiliation
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its content

8. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or upon request from your school or district administrator. You may request account deletion at any time by contacting support.

Upon account termination, your access to the Service will cease. We may retain certain data as required by law, for legitimate business purposes, or as described in our Privacy Policy. Any remaining credit balance at the time of termination will be forfeited.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or specific educational outcomes.

Teachers and school personnel remain responsible for classroom safety when using Classbox supply kits. You should review all materials for age-appropriateness and safety before use with students.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Betabox, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wake County, North Carolina.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to the address associated with your account or through a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
